We are home to the Gulf Coast Sea Turtles, May thru October is the height of hatching, season once the momma turtle lays her eggs hatching can happen in 45-60 days. The turtles are federally protected due to habitat loss, volunteers monitor activity and agency biologists protect the area. Most hatch after dusk and before dawn they leave tiny imprints going all the way to the water.
