Pace was originally known as Florida Town founded by William Barnett in 1821 and was the location of his lumber mill. The rich timberland fed the mill. Joe Pace entered the Picture in 1907 and opened the Pace Mill that focused on pulp production, and in the late 1930s was known as the Florida Pulp and Paper Mill. Switching gears and focusing more on pulp production James Pace reopened the mill as the Florida Pulp and paper company in the 1930’s Pace is a tight-knit community with a “Friday Night Lights” feel, seems like everyone in town goes to watch the local high school football team the Pace Patriots play. There is an athletic and recreation association that children can partake in everything from Cheerleading to Football. Various parks for children to play one of the most popular is Benny Russell with a large playground, picnic areas, and public restrooms on-site, everything you need for a great day. For the golf enthusiasts, you can practice your skills at Stonebrook Manor an 18-hole golf course that measures 6875 yards from the longest tees and has a slope rating of 131 and a 74.3 USGA rating.

Nearby there are multiple dining options from fast food to local restaurants like South Market a local favorite. Shopping is in the center of Pace with stores like Walmart Supercenter, TJMAXX, Publix, then there are antique shops and thrift stores to browse and find hidden treasures. If an urge for more upscale shopping the Cordova Mall or a quick trip to Tanger Outlet Center in Foley will satisfy the most refined shopper.

Pace has a southern small-town feel, exceptional schools, public parks recreation, military support, plenty of job opportunities, and close to the interstate with easy access to downtown Pensacola, beaches, and commuting.
